Each Health Plan Systems web hosting site
has multiple servers and back-ups to reduce the probability of single-point
failure. System and data security is ensured by digital certification,
data encryption, cryptic message transfers, firewalls (both within
HPS LAN and between the LAN and the outside world), secure modems,
and multiple layers of password protection.
The technology of our web site is fully HIPAA compliant. The software
will further protect against leakage of individually identifiable
health information (IIHI) by de-identifying it wherever possible.
Building the Internet architecture on the XML web service engine
distinguishes our site from its competition, and enhances its ability
to efficiently create and update client-specific web pages and contents.
Members insured by a health plan will see only their health plan's
information and not others. Large self-insured groups (ERISA plans)
will also have custom made group-specific pages.
These functionalities are covered under one HealthPlanSystems.com
engine. The XML web services engine gives HealthPlanSystems.com's
insurance carriers and insured members the unique ability to alter
their own data content at will. The carriers can use the web services
to announce new offerings, and process changes in benefits and eligibility.
Authorized carrier or group representatives will be able to log
onto HealthPlanSystems.com, modify the content, and launch the new
content on the web. All of these are also made possible by our site's
XML web services content workflow system.
The privacy and security processes and controls will meet or exceed
HIPAA requirements. We will safeguard:

- Healthcare Payer information
- Provider Credentialing information
- HPS proprietary software and information
